My first Easter Dinner (or should I say breakfast)

This morning my Easter Basket was filled with something called Rice Cereal. I was hoping for chocolates and jelly beans, but instead I got a box. Hm.. After examining the box, I noticed that the baby on the box looked a little like me, so I thought it was safe. I had Mom and Dad read the directions VERY carefully and make some for me. The movie below shows how well I did at this first attempt at Rice Cereal. I still wish Mom and Dad would have included some Peeps or a toy, but they know what's best!

Almost Bikini Season

I am so excited to start swim lessons. I got this swimsuit from my friend Sydney. She is my mom's friend's daughter. (I think I got that right). I feel so pretty in this outfit. Bright colors are so my thing right now. Well, I have the look, now I have to get to the pool and work on my stroke. I may see if my Aunt Jenoa can help me learn to swim, mom says she is a SUPER swimmer. I hope I take up swimming like my Mom (she hopes so too). Wish me luck!

Guess what I can do...

I can sit up all by myself. Mommy and Daddy taped me doing it for over a minute, but chose to use the shorter video because it includes stunts (i.e. me falling over) Don't be fooled... it was no accident, I am a professional. DO NOT try this at home with out parental guidance.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Don't I look adorable in this green shirt? Mom told me I needed to wear green today so no one would pinch me. Thank goodness Aunt Nancy was a high roller in Vegas and had enough money to buy me this Green M&M shirt. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all! Are you wearing green?

What a wonderful week. We decided as a family that it was time for me to get in the stroller like a big girl. It was so much fun! I also turned five months. Can you believe it? I have become a loud talker and am rolling over from Front to Back. Mom said that that is the more difficult way to roll over, but it is easy for me. I am also sitting up by myself for a few seconds. It will be no time at all that I will be rolling across the room. My favorite thing to do is get a bath. Mommy and Daddy are signing me up for swimming soon. I can't wait.

I have been enjoying listening to CD's as we drive to Grandma and Grandpa's. Mom got some that teach you to sing in a few different languages.. So.. hola, bonjour, and konnichiha.

Working on my exersaucer

The last couple of times I've been in my exersaucer it's been making some funny noises and leaking some fluid. So I figured it was about time I take a look under the hood. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything wrong with the exersaucer...it was working perfectly! It turns out it was me that was leaking and making funny noises.

Look alike

Mommy got her hair dyed her natural color. I never knew she had brown hair. She said that pregnancy made her hair turn brown. I think she was afraid to be a brown haired girl, but now that I have brown hair, she doesn't mind. I guess I had to be the one to try out the color first. Now that she is a brown haired girl I think we look more alike. What do you think? I think it brings out our baby blues.

Someone took their First Step!

Nope, not me.. silly, I am only five months old. It is my Grandpa's first step with his new leg. Also, I did do some pretty cool things myself. I convinced my grandpa that I like shiny things, so he gave me a bag of coins for my piggy bank. I have been getting some good exercise on my johnny jumper! One last thing I am getting good at is holding my own bottle. I don' t eat out of a bottle very often, but when I do, I can now hold it all by myself. I am so accomplished. smiles.

Hop On!

Grandpa got his scooter today. He took me for a ride. He even tried to teach me how to control this BIG MACHINE! It was so much fun!! Grandpa said that once I start crawling we are going to have races. I bet I will win. I have been studying the scooter closely and have discovered that it runs on batteries. Hm.. I don't think I run on batteries, so I might just win the race!

Grandpa is getting better (by the grace of God) and I turned 4 months. Read on...

(Mommy, Aunt Pattie, Uncle Johnny, Grandpa, and Aunt Lori)
Grandpa Update
1. Grandpa has really taken a turn for the better. After our scare on Thursday when the doctor said he had hours to live, to the smile on his face when he saw me after surgery, he is really an amazing man. He is still extremely weak and tired, but he is eating on his own and sitting up for short periods of time. We are uncertain about what will be done with his "good leg" and "scabbed hands" but for now he is doing quite well. He has been in ICU for a week and we hope he will be leaving there soon. I visited Grandpa every day, even though I couldn't go in the ICU. Aunt Patti made me smile a lot and I FINALLY met Uncle John!!

Tessa Stats
2. I turned four months. I weighed in at 14lb 11oz and is 24 3/4'' long. Mommy and Daddy told the doctor that they hadn't seen me roll over yet and he didn't seem to be concerned. BUT.. while I was showing Dr. Megahed that I can hold my head up on my own I decided to roll over. I was being a "show off." They were all so excited for me. I had four shots and did pretty well with them. I slept nine hours after that and slept all day today too. Mommy and Daddy think I am such a blessing!

Four months in detail (written by Mommy...I need a nap!)
3. Tessa has accomplished a lot in her four months of life. She has always been a super eater. I have been nursing her since birth. There was a few days when I wanted to give it up, but I am glad I stuck with it. I also pump so that Daddy can have a turn at feeding her. He has so kindly volunteered to do the 3AM feeding. She eats about 4oz at every feeding, which is anywhere from 2 to 3 hours apart. Tessa is a good sleeper and takes about 3 naps during the day. The naps last anywhere from 1hr to 3hrs depending on her mood. Sleeping at night is still a struggle. She hates her crib, so if we want to sleep ourselves, we give in and let Tessa sleep with Daddy. It is funny, we sing a couple of songs and she usually lulls herself to sleep. It is so cute, she hides herself in Daddy's arms and then she is out. We have tried the crib from time to time, and it works for like 30 minutes, but she just sleeps longer with Daddy. She is sleeping about 7 hours a night. Not bad!Tessa is extremely strong. Since she was 2 weeks old, she has been able to lift her head. Now she is practicing sitting up. She does it for about 15 seconds and then she falls over. She loves her exersaucer and has really taken to the little toys on it. She laughs and smiles all the time, and is starting to babble more. When she doesn't have her pacifier in her mouth she is sucking on her hands. She is so orally stimulated, that when you bring her up to your face she either will open her mouth to fit you in it, or she will suck on your chin, cheek, shoulder, whatever. She has always been good in her car seat which helps because we are always driving somewhere. At times, if Daddy or I are busy, we put her in it to take a nap, and she does super! Whenever we go anywhere we bring her bunny with. It fits so nicely next to her in her car seat, that we snuggle them both in.

Look what I can do

I have been learning new things this week. I have been practicing sitting up all by myself. This is a short video. Mom says that I did better when the camera wasn't on me, but I still tried my best. I also have been doing some scooting on the floor. Here are a couple pictures of me looking for Mom and Dad.

I'm a Big Kid Now!

I'm practicing my kissing with mommy and daddy...well, with pretty much anyone that tries to kiss my face, which is practically everyone!

Here's my new shirt from Auntie Laura...aren't I just adorable?!

Our latest family portrait.

Me and my bunny

Dad was gone all day today. He had to go from work right to his night class so Mom and I spent all day together. We had so much fun. We sang a song called "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", well those are the words anyway. We worked on our ABC's by watching Wheel of Fortune and then took a BIG bubble bath. But once American Idol came on I wanted NO interruptions. I had to listen to my competition. Tivoli was not amused. I chose to watch Idol with my bunny becuase I figured with her big ears she would be able to help me size up my competition. I have really started liking my bunny. She is my best friend right now!

The life of a three month old...

I have turned three months old and man does it feel good. Most of the time I am either drooling or putting my fist in my mouth. I love it when people talk to me and I have been keeping fairly good conversations with people too. I laugh when Mommy and Daddy stick their tongues out at me or when they try to play peek-a-boo. My Aunts are trying to get me to roll over, but I just haven't made it all the way yet. I have been working on bigger and better things. Take a look at some of the more advanced things I have been working on.

First, I am attempting to be the youngest girl to walk.. I am not quite there yet.

Second, here is my audition tape for American Idol.

This shirt says it all. (Thanks Buddy, I love the shirt!)

Oh.. one last thing. Tivoli has found a new use for Mommy's Boppy. Isn't she a silly dog? I think she just wants to look as cute as me.

Baby Einstein

Mom and dad put me in the exersaucer tonight to watch a little Baby Einstein. They said it will help my brain grow. I was a little insulted, so I showed them! Baby Einstein's got nothing on me!

Resolutions for us all...

Mommy and Daddy are continuing their good habits and working out on the treadmill every day to set a good example for me. I wanted to get in on the workouts so they decided to take me along. Mommy tried it first and I LOVED it, so when it was Daddy's turn to workout, I got to enjoy the ride again! Actually, the walking puts me to sleep! After we all worked out. Mommy and I headed up for a bath. I love bath time! I hope you are all keeping to your New Year Resolutions. In good health!
A new way to put Tessa to sleep
